Hi all,
I’ve installed hedgedoc with docker compose, but can’t figure out how to configure outgoing email. I would normally set a smtp address and login for this, but my searches only turn up AI generated results with no basis in reality. This means I can’t register/change password for accounts. Any pointers much appreciated!

There is currently no mail sending functionality in HedgeDoc, therefore you can’t configure anything mail related. Yes, the internal login system in HedgeDoc 1.x speaks about email addresses as user identifier, but in fact they are not used for sending emails. If configured on your instance, the email address is used for Libravatar profile images though.
