Hey all,
I’m new to HedgeDoc and totally excited to get started with team collaboration and documentation. I’ve been searching for markdown tools for quite some time, and HedgeDoc is the best out there for me being open-source and real time editing.
That being said, I am stuck trying to set it up for self-hosting on my local server. I have gone through the official docs, but I do not understand how to correctly set up the environment variables, especially the database settings and reverse proxy set up. I am utilizing Docker on Ubuntu 22.04.
Does anyone have a beginner’s guide, or maybe their advice, to get HedgeDoc running? I want to make sure it is secure, and am limiting errors with future updates, if needed.
Also, is there a way to enable GitHub login, or is it best to just use local accounts for now? Down the road, I would like to eventually use it across a small dev team, so I would appreciate any best practices when working with multiple users.
Thanks for your help to this great community, I look forward to learning more and contributing as I go!
