When editing a document that is of slide mode, the preview (in split view) live updates as expected. Now it would be kind of elegant if this were also to be the case for the slide that is open at the same time in presenter mode.
You could change your slide as you give a talk.
Often, in presentations, live editing is “too far away” to bother. Hedgedoc is already a good step in the right direction – maybe this could make it more complete.
replying to myself: perhaps it is better as it is now already. You can edit your slide (potentially on your own screen), and when you are done writing, you hit reload on the slide that is jkust displayed. That way, not everybody sees you editing (assuming you want to avoid this …).
Exactly, that’s how it’s meant to be used. The presentation mode (as well as the “publish” read-only view for documents) don’t integrate with the live editing. Currently, we don’t intend to change anything about that.
